Help / feedback

Big deckbuilder update is live!

I've been cooking this one for quite a while, and finally managed to push it out the door! Ashes.live now offers tools for determining your perfect dice spread in the deckbuilder (under the Costs tab), including choosing a First Five and seeing what you'll have to spend to get them in play.

Let me know if you run into any problems with the update or have any suggestions to make the site better!

This update also includes a bunch of quality of life changes around the site:

  • Phoenixborn stats are output when viewing a deck
  • Links for all conjurations are output in the card listing when a card has chained conjurations (like Summon Indiglow Creeper)
  • Phoenixborn name is shown in the homepage stream (since I don't have big beautiful images to distinguish recent Phoenixborn)
  • The detection of required dice types for your deck is improved (for instance, Rin's Fury no longer claims it requires [[natural]] dice, and choosing Aradel Summergaard does require [[natural]])
  • Longer delay before filtering card listings when typing
  • Cloned decks will now show up at the top of your My Decks list

Comments [p. 2]

  • I just noticed that there is an exhaustion Symbol at the top right of the website. Is that still coming up and what even is supposed to be there ?

    I'll never tell. (¬‿¬ )

I've got a couple potential things I could put up there, but I'm not sure when/if they'll come into being at the moment.

I would prefer the symbols to be colored or have a colored background.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give this some thought.

  • Another quality of life change : Make it so that for phoenixborn i do not have to type their last name in order to link them.
Just type [[Koji]] to generate Koji Wolfcub or [[Astrea]] to link to Astrea Prascovia Elikolani Valiente Scherzinger

  • have you considered hyper linking abilities as well as card names?

  • have you considered hyper linking abilities as well as card names?

How are you imagining this working?

  • Being able to type in abilities the same way you type in card names ( with the [[]] surrounding them). Maybe also a list of what units have this ability. I imagine it is a lot of manual work, given you would probably have to type up all the abilities, but I I've had a couple,of instances when I'd like to be able to know what an ability does without having to go through all of the units trying to find it on the one card that it is on.

Please note I have no idea when it comes to programming stuff, so sorry if I've oversimplified or don't understand just how complex it is.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean I wanted to know how you thought it would work technically; I can worry about that if I implement it. :-)

I'm more wondering how you imagine it working from a user's perspective. Would you see a card with the ability when you hovered over the name? Just the ability text? What would you get if you clicked it after hovering?

  • i'm thinking we would see the ability and if we clicked on it a list of cards with that ability. for example:

    (hovering):
overkill X: when this unit destroys a unit an opponent controls by attacking, deal X damage to that opponents phoenixborn.

    (after clicking):
overkill X: when this unit destroys a unit an opponent controls by attacking, deal X damage to that opponents phoenixborn.
    found on:
    elephant rider
    cerasaurus mount
    power through

just my two cents, I'm sure other people could think of better versions of this.

  • i've noticed when building a deck on a computer some of the cards are missing were as on my phone or tablet all the cards are available. For instance, i couldn't find chant of revenge or maeoni viper as options today

  • Have you accidentally turned off the base set as an option for deck Building?

This does indeed sound like you have accidentally disabled core set cards on your computer. You can check what sets are being included in listings here:
